Incheon National University's Department of Japanese Language & Literature (Dean Lee Seok) will operate an exclusive booth at the Korea-Japan Festival Hall 2024 in Seoul sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Japanese Embassy in Korea, and the Japanese Government Tourism Bureau at COEX D Hall in Samseong-dong from 11:00 p.m. to 18:30 p.m. on September 22 (Sun).
The Korea-Japan Festival Hanmadang began in 2005 and is considered one of the largest private exchange events between Korea and Japan, with 60,000 people, including high-ranking officials from both countries, visiting last year. Incheon National University's Department of Japanese Language & Literature passed the committee's review in August and achieved the feat of being assigned to the first place among the corporate booths, standing shoulder to shoulder with leading Japanese conglomerates such as Mitsubishi UFG Bank, Japan Airlines, Air Japan and Itoen.
At the booth, self-produced animations and videos of virtual idols will be screened to experience the activities of subculture webzines and small international exchanges. In addition, visitors will be distributed with the mascot keyring of the department's student council and webzine KOI. Through this, we intend to promote Incheon National University and the Department of Japanese Language & Literature in Japan to the Korean and Japanese people who visited the event.
